My first post...Tada!
That's one of Logan's new favorites; "Yook Mama, Tada!". He's one silly little boy. We have officially started potty training. I made up my mind about 5 days ago that he was going to wear big boy underwear and there would never be another diaper to touch his little butt. Well, I have stuck to my guns and he has showed me just who is in charge, lol. We have had one or two accidents each day, but other than that he's told me every single time he needs to potty (something unheard of, until I made the 'no diapers' rule). I'm amazed at how well he's doing. Considering how much he hated going potty before....oh well, I'm sure not complaining. We haven't had any accidents in public yet and hopefully this will continue. He is so stinkin' cute! I just love how he talks to me. He will tell me that he's mad or that he's 'really scared' (he told me that one tonight). My baby is growing up, though. He's coming up on 3! So hard to believe that it has been almost 3 years since he was born! I remember it like it happened yesterday. I see my 'baby' who doesn't need me so much anymore. My independent, (partially) potty-trained, feeds himself, mouths off to me little guy isn't my baby anymore. Sure, he's still small but it's hard for me to let go. Although it does give me baby fever...uh-oh! I find myself missing that smell and the tiny clothes and just everything. *sigh*I should get on with other topics before I get too far gone. Michael and I bought our first house last May. It's so nice to have your own home; your own little spot in the world where you can always find peace. We're still remodeling (endlessly) and you can imagine how well that goes with the little man and Molly. Molly is our newest addition to the family. She's our 8 month old, chocolate lab/weimeriner mix. She's huge and is honestly one of the dumbest animals I've ever seen. But, she's great with Logan. He mistakes her for a jungle gym and she tolerates him very, VERY well. I feel sorry for her sometimes, but she takes it all in stride. She's very protective of him; won't let anyone get rough with him (Michael!) and would sleep with him if we let her. Christmas was great. I got to decorate my own home, which was so much fun. We celebrated on Christmas Eve because Michael had to work on Christmas Day. And here I thought that once the Marine Corp was out of the picture, I'd have my husband back! lol, I guess it's not so bad. Or maybe we're just used to it by now. Either way, we deal. So, anyway...I cooked ALL day long for our Christmas dinner. I made honey-glazed ham, garlic mashed potatoes, orange sweet potatoes, homemade cranberry sauce, broccoli salad, mac'n'cheese (thanks to mom) and yeast rolls. This was in addition to all the appetizers I whipped up: fruit dip, stuffed mushrooms, bacon-wrapped scallops, cocktail meatballs'n'weiners and deviled eggs. I also tried out two fudge recipes, peanut butter and pumpkin, which turned out awesome. After dinner, we opened presents and let me tell ya, Logan got wayyyyy too much. My mom has issues with spoiling my child...which is totally OK with me! Michael got a new wrench set, a pull-up bar and underarmour shirt. I got a sewing machine (yay!) and accessories to go with it. Logan got toy after toy after toy after...ok, you get it. It was a nice day. Then, on Christmas, I was at home relaxing with Logan. It was a beautiful day (it's still 70's down here in the ole SC) and my house was completely clean...therefore, an excellent day. I put on Christmas music and lazed about. I think that's it for me, tonight. I'm going to brush up on some html tomorrow and see if I can't produce a prettier page;)
