So, I haven't posted in over a MONTH! lol, so much for my keeping up with posting, post. Anyway, I'll start from last post and move forward, as we've had alot going on!
Logan and I went to Kentucky in January to see my dad and nana. I miss them so much. As much as my dad can drive me bananas...he's my daddy and I love him. I just miss nana, period. She's so funny and is so smart! I can't learn enough when I'm with her. We only stayed for about two days and my dad took me back to Somerset to meet mom for the ride home. Well, that was the day it started snowing! So, mom and I decided to go ahead and trek home before the snow got too bad. This was on Monday night. I had a flight to catch on Thursday morning and didn't want to miss it! It snowed almost the entire way home! Through the mountains we were only able to do 25mph, tops. But we made it safe and sound.
I then procrastinated about packing and ended up staying up all night Wednesday, packing for Missouri. We left out on Thursday morning, got to Arkansas about 11am, and it was 64 degrees. Nice! Lauren and Beau met us at the airport and we ended up going out to Sam's cellar (a little bar/grill) that night. The next day we had a spa day, courtesy of Beau! I was so thankful! We had hour-long massages and pedicures:) That night, we went to a japanese steakhouse to eat. The next day, we left for Tulsa, OK for the concert! We were so excited. Got there about noon and started getting ready. We headed out about 6pm and it was a great concert! Brad Paisley, Dierks Bentley and Darius Rucker are all awesome singers! We stayed at the Doubletree that night and left about 10am the next morning to head back to Neosho. We pretty much relaxed all day on Sunday and got up and got ready to leave on Monday. Well, trouble starts. It started sleeting right as we're leaving for the airport (which is an hour and a half away). So, we pull on the highway and the first thing we see is and overturned vehicle and a BODY laying in the middle of the road!!! It was horrible! Lauren later told me that it was a woman from Neosho and she didn't have her seatbelt on...so always buckle up! We saw at least six more wrecks and they were all bad wrecks; overturned vehicles and such. It took us almost three hours to get to the airport, we get on the plane and wait to be de-iced...and wait....and wait. Finally, after being on the plane for three hours, they tell us it's cancelled and to go to the booking counter to reschedule. Argh. Ok, so we spent that night in the airport and were supposed to leave the next day...didn't happen. But, that night, the airline felt sorry for us and put us up in a motel. We had to carpool with two women we didn't know, but we got a shower and a hot meal. In case you're wondering, this is the same storm that ripped through the midwest and on into Kentucky a few weeks ago...nasty storm. Anyhow, we got back to the airport the next day and they finally got us to Memphis!!! YAY! We took off on a completely white, ice covered runway...but we made it safely. We get into Memphis and guess what...our connecting flight had taken off without us and there wouldn't be another flight for five more hours. I was soooo upset! By this time, I wanted Logan in my arms so badly, that I was just crying! Anyhow, we got home at 11pm on Wednesday night. I was never so glad to sleep in my bed and be in my house. I didn't leave home for over a week straight!
We just got our taxes back and are getting ready to put in hardwoods...I'm so excited! I will post some before and after pictures when we start doing it. We only have the downstairs flooring and some light fixtures and the countertops in the kitchen to finish....and we're done! Then all our hard work goes on the market...hopefully we'll turn a profit and be able to buy that farm we want.
I've also done alot of homework on 'going green' here lately. But, I think I'll post that in my blog, instead of the family one.
Michael got a new truck this week! Well, it's not new, but it is to us:) It's a big, honkin' redneck thing with Chuck Norris lights and a grill guard. He loves it. I love how it fits in our budget. Perfect. I'll also post pictures of it once I get them taken.
Logan is talking so much more. He now holds conversations and talks in complete sentences. He has letter recognition for the letters in his name and the number 2. He's able to tell you any color and if it has anything to do with a truck, train or plane...he knows what it is. As a matter of fact, he's right next to me playing with his matchbox cars and lumberjacks (the lumberjacks are having a conversation with each other...wonderful imagination!). Lil guy still hasn't hit the 30lb. milestone, but he's close. His 3T pants from Children's Place and Old Navy are almost too short...guess we'll have to move to 4T, even though the waist is monstrous. I still have to use the adjustable waistband on his 3T's alot, so I imagine the larger size will be even worse. I posted his latest art creation at the top of the page...HIMSELF! lol, I caught this one a little too late to prevent it:) Oh well, he had fun.
All in all, I think that sums up our last month. I will, honestly, start blogging more. If for no other reason than I said I would.
God Bless!
